Developing Communication Skills
The following skills are developed over several counselling sessions:
learning how to communicate without criticism
asking open ended questions and responding to answers without judgment to facilitate easy communication, understanding, and respect
learning skills to cultivate appreciation and influence each other positively
building trust and commitment in the relationship by focusing on positive emotions, understanding each individuals internal world, and valuing individual and shared life goals
repairing problems, making compromises, and savoring friendships
One of the long term goals of relationship counselling is to ensure that conflict discussions are calm and constructive. I want to ensure any conflicts can be turned into compassionate dialogue. This approach is proven to strengthen and sustain the relationship.
Multicultural Relationships
I have experience in cross-cultural marital and relationship issues. Therapies and interventions assist with building intimacy, romance, respect, and better communication.
Marathon Therapy
Intensive and marathon therapy is available for couples who find it difficult to commit to individual sessions over time. Marathon Therapy consists of three-hour long sessions for four consecutive days or two full day sessions on weekends. Intensive and marathon sessions must be pre-booked and paid in advance.
